South Indian Chicken Curry / Chicken Pulusu : Side Dish

I was never comfortable making non vegetarian dishes in my kitchen and so we always have it only when we go out for lunch/dinner. My daughter turned out to be a fan of chicken curry and she wanted it at least once a week. I didn't have an option but to start making non-veg dishes at home. I started with this simple chicken curry and it turned out good for the very first time itself. Now it has become a routine that I make chicken curry every Sunday !

Green Peas Masala : Side Dish

I never plan any posts here and it just happens that I share a lot of North Indian sides recipe one after the other or South Indian mains continuously ! So following the current trend here, it is an North Indian side dish that I am going to share here today. This is one of my most favorite sides that would go well with rotis and at the same time compliments Pulao and Jeera Rice too. The mere thought of it makes me drool and it is nothing but Green Peas Masala.

Palak Panner : Side Dish

I have been cooking a lot of South Indian dishes these days and South Indian dishes would be hubby's preference any day. To take a break I made my all time favourite palak panner. I used to make this dish at least once every week but yesterday I realised that I hadn't made this for more than a month ! While I was making this I couldn't wait to relish this with hot steaming parathas. Only then I remembered that I hadn't shared the recipe here. So here is my favourite panner side dish on the blog today.

Drumstick Cashew Nut Masala [Munakkaya Jeedipappu Masala] : Side Dish

Today I am sharing another simple side dish that would go well with rice. This is a rich and thus a very filling dish because of the presence of cashews - one of my favorite ingredient in my curries. Cashews give a different flavor to the curry and it makes the dish finger licking good. Its richness makes it an amazing dish even for kids. I had too many drumsticks with me and drumstick sambhar was boring so for a change I tried this and it was a super hit in my kitchen !

Ridge Gourd Thick Curry [Beerakaya Thokku / Peerkangai Thokku] : Side Dish

I usually feel thokku or thick currys are easy to make. In fact all the recipes you see here are simple or it would be the simplified version of the original dish ;) I prefer dosas/rotis where as hubby prefers rice for dinner and on days when I am too lazy [which would be 9 out of 10 days] to make two different side dish, I end up making a thokku. Thokku goes well with dosas, rotis and rice too. So today I am sharing an easy to make thokku that I made for dinner tonight :)

Aloo Mattar / Potato Peas Masala : Side Dish

It is so coincidental that my previous recipe was Gobi Mattar and today I will be sharing the recipe of Aloo Mattar. Day by day my cooking gets better - You have to trust me ;) and now I believe it is all about practice that makes a dish perfect. This is not the first time I am making Aloo Mattar but it tasted the best this time, so I had to share the recipe here. I really do not update here often but every time I come here I tell myself that I have to be regular. Hoping for the best I shall share the recipe right away :)

P.S - I didn't intend to do the post when I actually started making this curry, so do bear with the silly pic.

Simple Gobi Mattar / Cauliflower Peas Masala : Side Dish

Gobi Mattar is a healthy addition to our meal. Gobi - Cauliflower and Mattar - Peas both makes the dish so tasty. This is one dish loved by everyone in my family. I have made it into a thick curry here and few of you might like it a bit watery. You can add more water and switch off the stove a bit early to get the gravy. Do try the dish and let me know how you liked it.

Paneer Makhani : Side Dish

Paneer is a common ingredient used in Indian dishes and for non-Indians it is nothing but a form of cheese. You can even call it the 'Indian Cheese' and it is readily available in almost all grocery stores here in India. Paneer Makhani is a rich side dish usually prepared for dinners.
